Posh Spice Makes Friends w/ the 'WAGS' of Galaxy Players

VICTORIA Beckham will feel right at home when she gets to California – she’s been invited to marathon match-day shopping sessions with the LA Wags (Wives & Girlfriends).

And they sometimes spend as long as four hours at a time in just one designer boutique.

Bianca Kajlich, actress-wife of LA Galaxy captain Landon Donovan, loves to buy new outfits with her WAG pals while the men are preparing for their Saturday games.

And she doesn’t get home until after her husband has left for the stadium – “so it’s safe to drop the bags without a lot of questions”.

Friends of 32-year-old Victoria in England say the former Posh Spice had feared it would take her time to fit in with the close-knit wives and girlfriends of husband David’s new teammates, particularly as most of the American players make a tiny fraction of her husband’s multi-million-pound salary.

But 29-year-old Bianca and her best friend, Leah Albright, wife of Galaxy player Chris Albright, have told Posh they will do everything they can to make her feel at home.

Former England captain David Beckham is due to play his first game for Galaxy on July 21, weeks after completing his move from Real Madrid.

Victoria has been spotted house-hunting in upmarket Los Angeles areas since her husband signed for the American side in January.

Bianca and Leah meet on match days after Bianca has finished a gruelling weekly workout on the sand dunes near her home in Manhattan Beach.

She said last week: “I’ll make some whole-wheat pasta with turkey meatballs for Landon to eat before the game, and then I’ll meet Leah. While the men are occupied, we go shopping.”

The WAGS will offer to take Posh to their favourite shop, Alandrea, in Redondo Beach. Bianca said: “They know us by name. We can spend three or four hours in Alandrea alone.”

Bianca, who stars with comic David Spade in the hit TV comedy, Rules of Engagement, said she rushes off to watch the Galaxy play after leaving the evidence from her shopping trip at home – although she says: “I didn’t even know LA had a soccer team when we started dating.”

Bianca added: “Win or lose, we might head down to a boutique hotel called Shade, for drinks with the team.”

A club insider said: “Bianca is the captain’s wife and best-known of the Galaxy wives and girlfriends. Obviously that is all going to change in the summer.

“But she really wants to help Victoria settle and they are a great bunch of people. The Beckhams will feel right at home in no time.”
