Britney Spears Enters Rehab & Then Checks Herself Out

TV's “Extra” (11 a.m., weekdays, WDIV-TV, Channel 4) has learned that pop star Britney Spears entered a rehab facility. But there was some dispute as to whether she is sticking with the facility.

Spears ---in the process of divorcing Kevin Federline and recently split from boyfriend Isaac Cohen ---was last seen leaving New York City four nights ago on a private jet with her two young sons heading to Miami. Presumably, the facility is in the Florida area.

But TMZ .com reported has learned that while Spears checked in to the unnamed facility, she refused to stay and checked out -- one day later!

Reason? TMZ has learned that the center was located outside of the country, and she refused to stay.

"Extra" reports that Spears' rehab stint comes after months of hard partying, public vomiting and awkward photographs of her where she inadvertantly displayed her genitals .

The show reports friends reached out to her to seek help---clinically referred to as an intervention.

The show's report provides few other details. She is the latest of many celebrities---actress LIndsay Lohan and country star Keith Urban among the most recent---to withdraw from daily life to get sober.
