Hugh Grant is a Jackass

Hugh Grant has been arrested after allegedly hurling a tub of baked beans at a photographer.

He also reportedly kicked snapper Ian Whittaker.

Grant - who has been arrested before, when caught with prostitute Divine Brown in America - was taken to a police station last night for questioning over the alleged assault.

The arrest followed a clash with the freelance paparazzi photographer outside Grant’s Chelsea home on Tuesday morning.

Mr Whittaker said he had turned up to take pictures of the actor’s former girlfriend Liz Hurley, who lives in the same street. When Grant, 46, arrived in his car he asked him to smile as he took his picture.

The film star allegedly snapped, swearing at Mr Whittaker, 43, and reportedly kicking him three or four times. Then, as Grant entered his house, he allegedly turned and threw a plastic container of baked beans at him.

Mr Whittaker told a tabloid newspaper: “I said ‘Give us a smile please’ and he looked really angry.

“I walked backwards and he walked after me. He kicked me hard three or four times then kneed me in the groin.

Police were called to the incident and last night Kensington detectives returned to the actor’s home to arrest him and take him for questioning.

Grant had his fingerprints taken and provided a DNA sample. His other arrest was in Los Angeles 1995, when Grant was fined £1,000 for the Divine Brown incident.

Scotland Yard could not confirm the names of those involved on Tuesday, but said they were investigating an allegation of assault in Chelsea.

A spokeswoman added: “A 46- year-old man was arrested and has been bailed to a date next month.

Eric Bana Crashes in Australian Rally

Australian actor Eric Bana crashed his painstakingly restored 1974 Ford XB Coupe into some trees during an around-the-state rally Saturday but emerged uninjured along with his co-driver. Bana and co-driver Tony Ramunno walked away from the crash during the Targa Tasmania rally, where they had been in 53rd place in field of 115 cars in the Outright Classic competition. Initially, Bana hoped that the car, which he has owned since he was 15, could be repaired to continue the final day of racing on Sunday. But a closer inspection by his support crew showed that the front right-hand steering and suspension were too badly damaged. "We had been having a great day until then," Bana said. "But I misjudged a tight left-hander and we went in a little too fast — the car understeered off the road and got onto the gravel and we went into a couple of trees at a fairly low speed. "The car is a little battered on the driver's side which is a real shame, as many hours had been spent reshaping its original panels to get it just right. It's a real shame, but that's motor racing." The 38-year-old Bana has starred in movies such as "The Hulk" and "Munich." His most recent film is "Lucky You," which also stars Robert Duvall and Drew Barrymore.

She's also passionate about being environmentally responsible. She drives a hybrid car, uses energy-efficient appliances and light bulbs and has solar panels on the roof of her house.
