Scary Spice has a baby girl

Melanie Brown (aka Scary Spice) gave birth to her second child at 12:11 a.m. Tuesday morning at St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica, CA.

The baby girl, who is still unnamed, weighed in at approximately 5 pounds, 6 ounces, and 18 inches long.

"It was an easy birth,” a source close to Brown tells Usmagazine.com. “The baby’s light-skinned and beautiful. Mel is thrilled!"

The source added that mother and baby are very happy now and plan on being in the hospital for two more days.

Brown, 31, went into the hospital Monday afternoon and was surrounded by her mother, 8-year-old daughter Phoenix Chi, and close friends.

The name of the baby's father has not been added to birth certificate. Brown has long maintained that ex-boyfriend Eddie Murphy is the father, a claim which the comedian denies. “I don't know whose child that is, until it comes out and has a blood test,” he said last year.

According to the source, Brown did not tell Murphy about the birth. “Mel said, ‘He can read about it.’”

The fact that Brown's baby was born on Murphy’s birthday, April 3, is purely coincidence, says the source, who adds that the child had a natural birth, and was not delivered via Cesarean section.

Rose McGowen is a Homewrecker

PRODUCTION of "Grindhouse," the much-hyped Quentin Tarantino-Robert Rodriguez movie opening Friday, ground to a halt last year when Rodriguez fell for his leading lady, Rose McGowan, and his wife found out.

Rodriguez and his spouse of 16 years, Elizabeth Avellan, raised five kids and worked together, with Elizabeth serving as his co-producer on "Grindhouse," "Sin City," "From Dusk Till Dawn," "Desperado" and "Spy Kids."

But the marriage exploded last April when Page Six reported that Rodriguez, 38, had begun a torrid romance with McGowan, the raven-haired, French-Irish minx once engaged to shock rocker Marilyn Manson and previously linked with Kip Pardue, Ahmet Zappa and Men's Health stud Dave Zinczenko.

"It was the worst-kept secret on the set. They were going off to his trailer, having meals together," our source said. "Rose thought some of the crew were treating her differently, and the attitude was, like, well what do you expect when you're fucking the director?"

In "Grindhouse," Rodriguez's homage to the cheesy sex-and-violence movies of the 1970s, McGowan plays a stripper who loses her leg and replaces it with a machine gun to battle flesh-eating zombies.

She and Rodriguez first met at Cannes in 2005. But until now the consequences of their shenanigans weren't fully known. When the director "fell in love with his femme-fatale star . . . he broke up his marriage of 16 years . . . The production had to shut down for a month while he recovered," Variety reports.

A source told Page Six, "When Elizabeth found out, there was an eruption of emotions - an emotional volcano."

A Dimension Films spokeswoman would only comment: "The hiatus had nothing to do with Robert's personal life."

In the meantime, Rodriguez and McGowan are keeping an ultra-low profile. "They arrived in the same limo for the L.A. premiere, but they got out separately several minutes apart to avoid being seen together," a spy told Page Six.

Rodriguez and Avellan insist that their separation is amicable and that they plan to raise their four boys, Rebel, Rocket, Rogue and Racer, and daughter, Rhiannon, together and continue their partnership in Troublemaker Studios.

Tara Reid is Drunk

Tara Reid's busting out

Tara Reid was vacationing (from partying?) in Acapulco this weekend, but her bikini top worked overtime!

The bustin' out blonde gave visitors and locals a whole lotta view, but not quite the red carpet cupful for which Miss Reid is so affectionately remembered.

According to People Magazine Ryan Gosling & Rachel McAdams are still going strong

First Rachel McAdams told Elle that her boyfriend influenced her film choices – and now Ryan Gosling has returned the compliment.

"She's kind. She doesn't need any help from me. She's inspired me to do so much as well," Gosling, 26, said Sunday when asked about McAdams's comments at a junket for his new thriller Fracture.

McAdams, 30, told the magazine's April issue that her beau – and costar in 2004's The Notebook – "never does the same thing twice. He's very brave."

But Gosling, a Best Actor Oscar nominee for Half Nelson, says McAdams has good judgment in her own right: "She's the most discerning person I've ever met. She'll read a script 100 times. She's relentless."

And she's not bad looking, either: Asked to comment on McAdams's cover shot for the magazine, Gosling was momentarily tongue-tied.

"Oh ... yeah ..." he said. "She looks stunning! Absolutely – yeah!"

Pax's Birth Mother Breaks Her Silence

Pham Thu Dung, the biological mother of Pax Thien Jolie, says she's happy that her child has found a new life with Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.

The British newspaper News of the World tracked Dung down in the Vietnam neighborhood she calls home and talked to the 29-year-old about why she gave Pax up for adoption in 2003. Though Dung admits that she's presently incapable of taking care of the three-year-old, she hopes that one day in the future he'll call her "mother" again.

On giving Pax up for adoption:
"I am not his mother anymore because I abandoned him. I saw his face in the newspapers and I wanted to recognize him but I couldn't. He was a stranger to me. I wanted to forget all about him but it hurts so much to see his face and hear about everything that is happening to him. It brings all the pain back to me. My dream is that one day he'll visit me and call me mother. But it's only a dream, I know it's impossible."

On Angelina adopting Pax:
"I want to see my son again and tell him I'm so sorry I had to give him away. I am very happy for him. I hope he has a good life now. He is better off with the movie star because I am not a good mother. I wasn't able to take care of my baby."

On her hopes for the future:
"I realize I am not capable of looking after him. I can't even feed myself properly, let alone a baby as well. I only eat one meal a day. I just hope one day I will see him just to see how he is and looks. I want to know that he's ok and that his new mother loves him."

On her parents signing the adoption papers without her knowledge:
"There is nothing I can do. I can't change what has happened."

On Pax's father leaving her during the pregnancy:
"I kept my baby because I thought my boyfriend would marry me. I wanted to keep the baby and live with him. I trusted him, but he left me."

On taking two fixes of heroin a day:
"I really want to give up. I know drugs might kill me. If I can manage it, I will live a normal life. I really miss my grandmother and my family. I want to sort myself out and go home. But until I can give up drugs, I know I can never go home. I know my father is angry with me and I know the neighbors will laugh at my family. I don't want my son to be ashamed of me when he grows up."

Hours after meeting with News of the World, Dung was picked up by police and escorted to her family's home. A friend who was with her at the time told the paper that her parents have been ordered to keep her there or she faces jail-time.
