Hugh Dancy and Claire Danes seem to be getting along swimmingly: After attending a spate of events in the last few days, the press-shy couple are planning a scuba-diving vacation.

"I've never scuba-dived, but hopefully, I'm going to, the day after tomorrow," Dancy told PEOPLE Monday at a Cinema Society screening of their film Evening in New York City. "I'm going on a holiday."

Asked if Danes was going with him on the vacation, Dancy said: "Yes."

But the actor, who just wrapped up a stint in the Tony award-winning play Journey's End, was coy about their exact destination. When asked if the getaway was to an island, Dancy would only say, "It's not a landlocked country."

He added: "I've never done scuba, but I'm not very good at those holidays where you do absolutely nothing, so I figured I'd learn to swim underwater." (Speaking of tropical getaways, Danes will be honored at the 2007 Maui Film Festival, to be held June 13-17.)

And Danes supports her beau's adventurous side. Backstage at Sunday's Tony Awards in the gift lounge, she requested an Invicta diving watch for Dancy, according to a source.

Dancy and Danes began dating while filming Evening in Newport, R.I. "We hadn't met before," Dancy said Monday. "It's an amazing place."

Danes recently told PEOPLE that she and Dancy "just happened upon each other because we were friends" – and Dancy told PEOPLE of the relationship: "I'm having a great time."

Katie Holmes is having so much fun with her (very polite!) 1-year-old daughter Suri, she's ready for more kids.

Asked by Entertainment Tonight if she wants to expand her brood, Holmes, 28, replied: "Yes, definitely." (Her interview with ET airs Monday.)

Holmes and husband Tom Cruise, 44, have spent the year since Suri was born largely out of the spotlight, and Holmes says of their time as a family, "We're having the best time, it's so amazing."

Now, Holmes is back to work, filming the comedy Mad Money with Diane Keaton and Queen Latifah in Shreveport, La., where she's made a tradition of treating the cast and crew to snow cones, pizza and cupcakes.

Back at home in L.A. with Cruise and his children Isabella, 14, and Conner, 12 (with ex-wife Nicole Kidman), the mood is similarly festive: "We have so many kids in our house, there's always this wonderful chatter and the great noise of kids."

Conner and Bella, she says, "are so sweet, they're so great with Suri and she lights up when she sees them." The same can be said for their dad: "He's a great father and so it came to no shock that when we had Suri he was amazing with the baby."

ANOTHER night, another LA party girl hits the deck.

But seriously, somebody needs to ship BRITNEY back to rehab asap.

The Toxic star had to be carried out of the men’s toilets of an exclusive LA hotel bar on Sunday night after she was discovered vomiting uncontrollably.

Out of it, she was overheard telling hotel staff: “I’m sorry, I’m sorry. Things aren’t going well for me at the moment.”

Talk about an understatement!

The troubled pop princess, who spent a month in rehab earlier this year, was then carried out of the bar sobbing and covered in sick.

It’s not unusual to see Britney out on the town these days, but never in this kind of sorry state.

The singer disappeared to the bathroom just an hour after arriving at the Mondrian Hotel’s swanky Sky Bar with five friends.

And it wasn’t long before hotel security got a call saying she needed urgent help.

My source said: “Britney was found slumped over the toilet bowl with make-up smeared over her face and her wig hanging off.

“She had a room booked at the hotel but was too ill to stay and was begging her bodyguard to take her home.

“She looked a real mess and was sitting on the floor with her head over the bowl throwing up.

“There was vomit down the front of her black dress and around her mouth.

“Britney was on her knees and must have been sick four or five times. She didn’t really seem with it, but I don’t know if she was drunk or not.”

The mother-of-two then had to be helped out of the hotel because she couldn’t stand up by herself.

The source added: “It was really sad. Everyone thinks she’s getting back on track after her comeback shows but that’s clearly not the case. I think she needs proper help.”

And maybe just the odd night in with her kids?

Yesterday, Britney posted an epic letter on her website trying to explain the last few months.

She says: “Recently, I was sent to a very humbling place called rehab. I truly hit rock-bottom.

“Till this day I don’t think that it was alcohol or depression.”

Apparently referring to Attention Deficit Disorder, she says: “I was like a bad kid running around with ADD.”

And she adds: “I just want the same things in life that you want . . . and that is to be happy.”

On Monday the troubled singer, wearing a cap clearly emblazoned with a swear word, asked after LINDSAY LOHAN’s wellbeing while speaking to a photographer.

The 45-year-old comedian has decided to leave The View early, the network has announced.

"We had hoped that Rosie would be with us until the end of her contract three weeks from now, but Rosie has informed us that she would like an early leave,” Brian Frons, President of ABC Daytime, said in a statement. “Therefore, we part ways, thank her for her tremendous contribution to 'The View' and wish her well."

The chat show’s den mother Barbara Walters said, "I brought Rosie to the show. Rosie contributed to one of our most exciting and successful years at The View. I am most appreciative. Our close and affectionate relationship will not change."

Earlier this month, Heche's estranged hubby, Coley Laffoon, filed court papers in which he expresses doubt as to whether she is "psychologically capable" of caring for their five-year-old son Homer and requests joint legal and primary physical custody of the boy, plus $33,000 a month in child support and no less than $15,000 in attorney fees.

Detailing myriad ways in which he has been the primary caregiver since Homer was born, Laffoon, 33, questions Heche's ability to parent in the face of her "bizarre and delusional behavior" and asks that a psych evaluation "be commenced immediately."

In documents filed May 2 in Los Angeles Superior Court and released Thursday, Laffoon cites an incident last September in which he and Homer were staying in Vancouver and Heche, 37, who was on her way back from New York and was supposed to change planes in Los Angeles, called him at about 11:30 p.m. sounding confused and said that she "didn't know where she was and that she needed help."

Because he was in Canada, Laffoon called Heche's L.A. publicist and asked if she could go look for her. The publicist wasn't able to find her, Laffoon states, but the next day Heche returned to Vancouver and acted as if nothing had happened.

Britney Spears is set to sing a duet with the late Marilyn Monroe.

The troubled star plans to boost her ailing career by performing with the movie icon - who died more than four decades ago - on a previously unreleased Marilyn song called 'Down Boy'.

Lance Bass, 28, a former member of Britney's ex-lover Justin Timberlake's band *NSYNC, has reportedly secured the rights to the song and thinks it would be perfect for Britney.

A source told Britain's Daily Star newspaper: "Lance wants Britney to sing with Marilyn on the track, like Natalie Cole did on 'Unforgettable' with her dad Nat King Cole."

From there, rumors began to circulate all the way from New York to Los Angeles, the magazine reports in a story in this week's issue. It just kept growing.

The report claims that during a party on April 10 at New York’s Indochine restaurant for photographer Patrik Andersson, a guest was overheard claiming that Brad, 43, and Angie,31, were having an affair with 23-year-old supermodel Karolina Kurkova. Even for Angelina - who’s had affairs with women before and once boasted that she had two lovers at the same time - it was the steamiest rumor yet. But the gossip didn’t stop there.

Another insider dished that Karolina was overheard at a recent fashion fitting talking about her relationship with the couple. The insider says, “She was giddy, acting like a schoolgirl.”

As much as it sounds like a late night Cinemax movie that everyone would like to see, it is very, very likely not true. There’s no proof that the trio have ever been together at the same time. That's a pretty big key for a threesome. And Karolina, who lives in Manhattan with her boyfriend of four years, Alessandro, tells In Touch, “I have never met them.” But don't be surprised to see it more. Brittany Hatch: [Laughs] I really don't cry that much! It looks that way, though, doesn't it?

TVGuide.com: How do I put this? Yes. Yes, it does.
Brittany: That environment is sort of made to make you stress out, and everyone handles their stress differently. There's a week's worth of footage per episode, and when you cut it down to five or 10 minutes per girl, you can make anybody look the way you want to. Everybody has their breakdowns and their bitch fits.

TVGuide.com: Are you saying that you had a Renee moment or two?
Brittany: [Laughs] Probably. I think we all did.

TVGuide.com: I really thought you were going to go the distance. You never took a bad picture.
Brittany: Thank you! But I was pretty sure that I was going to go home before the final three when I did consistently well. I hadn't watched the show before, but I heard from a lot of the girls that there is always the girl who does consistently well but only gets to the final five or six before being sent home. Tyra doesn't want a model, she wants to make a model. That's what the show is about. So the girls who start off strong and are just consistently strong, that's not what she's chasing. She wants to build you into something and create her little Tyra protégé.

Brittany: A little. But I think at that point, after the [difficulties I had with the CoverGirl commercial], I was so sort of petrified of doing something wrong that I curled up into a little shell and just didn't let myself be me or do anything right. Or anything at all, for that matter!

TVGuide.com: Which is a shame, because you actually have quite a nice personality.
Brittany: I think I have a very friendly and outgoing personality. I mean, I tend bar, so my job is to sort of be everyone's best friend and talk to everyone and have a good time with them. But the show brought out a different side of me that I don't think I even knew existed. I didn't know how to handle it at the time.

TVGuide.com: Which side was that?
Brittany: The very emotional, stressed Brittany! My friends watched and said, "I've never seen you get stressed about anything in your life! What the hell?!" It was kind of entertaining, though.

TVGuide.com: Maybe it was not being able to be in a bar and have the occasional beer over the course of any given week that did it to you.
Brittany: I don't know if it was that, or [if it was] that... you do get a little bit emotional when you have a camera in your face and a director asking you 15 times, "What's wrong?" I'm sure anyone knows that when someone asks, "What's wrong?" and you say "Nothing," and they say, "No, really, what's wrong?" that's the trigger.

TVGuide.com: Hell, just being asked over and over again would make me cry!
Brittany: Exactly! Once you get to a certain point, you just wanna say, "Fine, I'll let you know.... But look, then you've got to leave me alone!"

Brittany: That really was a very ignorant statement from someone who has obviously never known anyone with a brain trauma or anything like that and does not understand the difference between short-term and long-term memory. [Brittany has maintained that her short-term memory was scrambled when she was run down by a car.] We had two hours to memorize the script for the acting challenge, and I was able to do that, because it was then committed to long-term memory. When handed cue cards, short-term memory is a two- to five-second window in which you look at something and then you regurgitate it and forget about it. Without having short-term memory, I can't look at something and regurgitate it, because I don't remember it. I would look at the cue cards and then turn to the camera and have no idea what the cue card just said.

TVGuide.com: Snap! When did it occur to you that throwing a hissy fit on the modeling agency's doorstep may not have been the greatest idea?
Brittany: Obviously, in the heat of the moment, it didn't occur to me that it might not be the greatest idea. But afterwards, as soon as I heard from Renee that Priscilla [Leighton Clark of Priscilla's Modeling Management] could hear me... when we walked into the elimination room, I did apologize to her for my behavior and said that it was completely out of line. Of course, they didn't show that part. They show what they like, and that's fine. It's what I signed up for.

Brittany: Oh, I definitely was a little nervous and angry with myself. I reacted in a way that was childish and immature and completely unbecoming, and I lost any poise that I may have had and saw mud on my face! But I took it as a learning experience. Better to fall flat on my face then and learn from it than just go on having no idea.

TVGuide.com: I know you're not allowed to book jobs until the show is finished, but have people been calling to inquire about your availability?
Brittany: Nobody knows who I am yet, because they hide our last names until after we get eliminated. But I definitely plan on pursuing modeling, and actually I'm moving to New York this summer. I'm subletting a place with my friend who has an internship at VH1, so we're going to be living up there and I'm going to attempt to pursue modeling. Hopefully, I can do a little better in the real world than I did on the go-sees that are the little microcosm of ANTM.

LOS ANGELES — A judge sentenced Paris Hilton to 45 days in jail Friday for violating her probation, putting the brakes on the hotel heiress' famous high life

Hilton, who parlayed her name and relentless partying into worldwide notoriety, must go to jail on June 5 and she will not be allowed any work release, furloughs, use of an alternative jail or electronic monitoring in lieu of jail, Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer ruled after a hearing.

The judge ruled that she was in violation of the terms of her probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case.

"I'm very sorry and from now on I'm going to pay complete attention to everything. I'm sorry and I did not do it on purpose at all," she told the judge before he announced the sentence.

She was then ordered to report to a women's jail in suburban Lynwood on the set date or face 90 days behind bars.

As a city prosecutor said during closing arguments that Hilton deserved jail time, Hilton's mother Kathy laughed. When the judge ruled, Kathy Hilton, then blurted out: "May I have your autograph?"

Hilton was among a series of witnesses who took the stand during the hearing. She maintained she was unaware her license was suspended and thought she was allowed to drive for work purposes.

She said that when an officer who stopped her in January made her sign a document stating her license was suspended, she thought he was mistaken and did not actually look at the document.

Hilton arrived at the courthouse 10 minutes after the scheduled 1:30 p.m. start time of the hearing.

The heiress arrived in the back of a black Cadillac Escalade and swept into the Metropolitan Courthouse with several men in suits, ignoring screams of photographers lining the route into a rear entrance. In addition to her mother, her father Rick also came with her.

Wearing a gray jacket and white shirt over black slacks and with a black headband on, she said nothing and appeared serious.

The celebrity case brought an unusual scene to the austere courthouse south of downtown in a commercial area. As if at a red carpet event, dozens of photographers and reporters lined up at the rear entrance. Yellow police tape substituted for velvet ropes.

Hilton, 26, pleaded no contest in January to reckless driving stemming from a Sept. 7 arrest in Hollywood. Police said she appeared intoxicated and failed a field sobriety test. She had a blood-alcohol level of .08 percent, the level at which an adult driver is in violation of the law.

She was sentenced to 36 months probation, alcohol education and $1,500 in fines.

Two other traffic stops and failure to enroll in a mandated alcohol education program, are what landed the socialite back in court.

On Jan. 15, Hilton was pulled over by California Highway Patrol. Officers informed her that she was driving on a suspended license and she signed a document acknowledging that she was not to drive, according to papers filed in Superior Court.

Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies stopped Hilton on Feb. 27 and charged her with violating her probation. Police said she was pulled over at about 11 p.m. after authorities saw the car speeding with its headlights off.

Hilton's spokesman, Elliot Mintz, said at the time Hilton wasn't aware her license was suspended. A copy of the document Hilton signed on Jan. 15 was found in the car's glove compartment, court papers say.

Hilton was also required to enroll in an alcohol education program by Feb. 12. As of April 17, she had not enrolled, prosecutors said.

Hilton, heiress to the Hilton Hotel fortune, first gained notoriety for her hard partying as a teen. She attracted worldwide attention when a sex tape she made with a boyfriend was released on the Internet.

She stars in the reality-TV series, "The Simple Life," now in its fifth season, with Nicole Richie. She appeared in the 2005 film, "House of Wax" and recently finished filming "The Hottie and the Nottie." She also is a handbag designer and has a namesake perfume.

The Latino singer and two others agreed to pay a total of $2.5 million (GBP1.28 million) in back taxes as part of a plea agreement in New York.

The New York County District Attorney claimed the singer and his partners "failed to file New York State and City corporate tax returns and pay their respective tax liabilities."

When someone as respected and beloved as Tori Amos comes to your defense, while you are attempting to reclaim yourself against a tsunami of criticism, then that’s something to be happy about. So is the case for the recently rehabbed pop sensation Britney Spears. Tori recently spoke up about Britney’s troubles and points to Britney’s label as being a part of the problem:

“Whether they’re selling perfume or a song, people have decided they’re a brand. Hollywood did a good job of creating icons in the 30s and 40s, they understood a story. Now, give ‘em a haircut and some clothes and they think they can pull off Aphrodite. Then you have situations like Britney shaving her head. I don’t think her sweet, saccharine image was close to who she really was, and she rebelled.”

Obviously, Britney’s image isn’t the only element in her fall from grace; Britney’s crumbling marriage, dealing with parenthood and substance abuse issues were a bigger part of the problem. But maybe, Britney’s has been trying to tell us something about herself all these years.
From her public kiss with fellow pop-rebel Madonna, to her shredding her pop-tart image for songs like “Toxic” and “I’m A Slave For U,” it’s clear that Britney’s much “darker” than her peers, and quite possibly, has felt trapped in a persona that didn’t closely match who she really was.
Tori Amos’ observations, though simplistic, may in truth be really insightful. More importantly, her experiences make her a credible witness to testify on Britney’s “troubled” behalf. Tori Amos has had her share of hard times too.

Despite their disparate musical stylings, Tori and Britney have a couple things in common and if Tori’s right, both performers began their careers as something different than who they were inside.
Amos began her career in an ill-conceived band in the mid-80’s called “Y Tori Can’t Read.” She recorded one album and was tossed aside for being silly and derivitive of the whole 80’s synth sound - sort of like if Kate Bush sang for Duran Duran. This initial failure was likely her saving grace, as Tori was forced to find her own voice and sound. Which she did with great gusto, paving the way for many of the alternative female singer-songwriters who would come after her (Sarah McLachlan, Jewel, Fiona Apple and Alanis Morissette to name a few.)
Tori had great success in the early 90’s from her first solo album Little Earthquakes, the single “Silent All These Years” and later with “Cornflake Girl” and “Crucify” sealed her status as cult icon. Despite writing quirky, off-kilter songs — on a piano no less — Tori has a rabidly loyal fanbase, has recorded over 10 albums, sold over 15 million records and her new and eagerly anticipated record, American Doll Posse is set to be released on May 1.
Tori, like Britney, knows personal heartache. During her early years in LA, Tori was raped by an acquaintence and wrote about her experience in her song “My And A Gun.” She’s done benefits for RAINN (Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network) a charity designed to help those who are struggling with sexual assault and abuse and has openly spoken out about her abuse in an effort to raise awareness.
Tori, having had her career sidetracked due to an ill-conceived image and having suffered personal trauma, gives her unique perspective to see through the b.s. in Britney’s life and maybe even offer a light at the end of the tunnel for Spears. If Britney can stay focused, and discover who she really is inside, maybe she can reach even greater success with a whole new image - one she can finally be true to.
It might be a stretch to imagine Britney becoming an indie icon like the outrageously talented Tori Amos - but stranger things have happened to lesser people.

Last month marked the most frenetic time of Tori Spelling's life. On March 13, the star of Tori & Dean: Inn Love gave birth to son Liam, her first child with husband of 11 months, actor Dean McDermott, 40.

Spelling's water broke 15 days earlier than expected and her doctor had to induce labor, which ended up lasting 17 hours. The contractions "felt like I was being Tasered!" the 33-year-old actress tells Us in an exclusive interview.

"I asked Dr. Rothbart if he'd do a good job, and he said, 'Well, Angelina didn't complain.' So I was like, 'If Angelina let him do a C-section in Africa, I am OK. I felt comforted by that.'"

Spelling's good spirits can also be attributed to another recent significant event: She and her mom, Candy, 61, recently reconciled after a nine-month estrangement. "It was an easy birth,” a source close to Brown tells Usmagazine.com. “The baby’s light-skinned and beautiful. Mel is thrilled!"
